    Description: 

    During the course of 2-weeks, myself, alongside my coworkers at EMP Studios created a game where players take control of an Old man suffering from hallucinations, fending off the shadowy creatures during the night. Our interpretation of altered brain chemistry inspired us to create a day and night cycle, with the creatures attacking the player during the nighttime phases, shaping both the gameplay and the environment design choices for the game.     As the Environment artist, It was my responsibility to create most of the static ass​ets that will be used on the level. All assets seen below keep to a consistent frame of 32x32.

    • To meet with the time constraints of the jam, I chose to design modular terrain pieces, allowing quick assembly of the level while keeping the layout flexible for iteration and changes in scale during development.

    • ​On top of this, I created a series of decals that could be layered on top of the wall to represent different forms of structural damage. With the sole purpose of helping further communicate the idea of a dilapidated household whose owner had steadily worsened over time. ​​

    • My final contribution to the project came in the form of alternative asset states for the lamp, the bed, and the closet. Each meant to be used during the different phases of the game.
